An Act to create a Fund for defraying the expense of providing Medical assistance for sick Emigrants, and of enabling Indigent persons of that description to proceed to the place of their destination. An Act to establish Boards of Health within this Province, and to enforce an effectual system of Quarantine. (25th February, 1832.) 2 William IV Chapter 16 1832 This Act establishes a system of quarantine to prevent the introduction of Asiatic Cholera into the province, outlining the processes by which this should be put in place and allowable expenses. An Act to appropriate certain sums of money for the support of the Emigrant hospital at Québec and of the Fever Hospital at Point Levi; and for other purposes therein mentioned. (25th February, 1832.) 2 William IV Chapter 15 1832 This Act advances a sum not exceeding one thousand five hundred pounds towards the support of the Emigrant Hospital established in the City of Québec, a sum not exceeding seven hundred and fifty pounds towards establishing a temporary fever hospital at Point Levy, and a sum not exceeding ten pounds to reimburse Joseph Painchaud for the expense of building sheds at the Emigrant Hospital. An Act to appropriate a certain sum of money to defray the expense of the Surveyor’s Estimates and Plans of a Canal from Missiskoui Bay to South River. An Act to amend an Act passed in the ninth year of His late Majesty’s Reign, and to provide more effectually for the establishment of a Market and Landing Place in Saint Paul’s Street, in the Lower Town of Québec. (25th February, 1832.) 2 William IV Chapter 13 1832 This Act amends the 1829 Act, “An Act to establish a New Market Place in Saint Paul’s Street, in the Lower Town of Québec, and to authorize the advance of a certain sum of money to the Trustees of the said Market,” in order to allow the market's trustees to sell a certain portion of the lot provided, under the terms outlined. An Act for the appointment of Commissioners to ascertain and report to the Legislature under what provisions it would, be expedient to authorise the erection of a Bridge over the River Saint Charles, at the mouth of the said River. (25th February, 1832.) 2 William IV Chapter 12 1832 Under this Act, three commissioners are to be appointed to meet with several petitioners seeking to erect a toll bridge over the Rivière Saint-Charles to the east of the existing Dorchester Bridge. An Act to appropriate, a certain sum of money for the erection of a Bridge over the River Saint Maurice. (25th February, 1832.) 2 William IV Chapter 11 1832 This Act makes provisions for the construction of a bridge crossing the Rivière Saint-Maurice, near Trois-Rivières. Under this Act, three commissioners are to be appointed to oversee the construction. The exact location where the bridge is to be constructed and the processes by which this is to be done are outlined. Tolls that may be charged for crossing the bridge are listed. An Act to continue, for a limited time, and to amend a certain Act therein-mentioned, providing for the better regulating of the Inspection of Pot and Pearl Ashes. (25th February, 1832.) 2 William IV Chapter 10 1832 This Act continues and amends a former Act from 1829, “An Act to suspend, for a limited time, certain Acts therein-mentioned, and to regulate in a better manner the Inspection of Pot and Pearl Ashes.” The Act allows the Inspectors of Pot and Pearl Ashes in Montreal, Sorel-Tracy, and Saint-Mathias-sur-Richelieu to appoint Assistant Inspectors. An Act to make better provision with regard to Appeals from the Provincial Court of the Inferior District of Saint Francis, to establish Circuits therein, and to extend the benefits of Trial by Jury to the said Inferior District. (25th February, 1832.) 2 William IV Chapter 8 1832 Under this Act, appeals to the Provincial Court coming out of the Inferior District of Saint-François are to be heard in the Inferior District, not by the Courts of King's Bench at Montreal or Trois-Rivières as had formerly been practiced.
