An Act to Incorporate certain persons therein mentioned under the style and title of the President, Directors and Company, of the Credit Harbor. Passed 6th March, 1834. 4 William IV – Chapter 32 1834 This act incorporates the Credit Harbour company, allowing them to build a harbour at the mouth of the river Credit. It limits the value of the company's shares at five thousand pounds, and appoints commissioners to determine the necessary land for the building of roads and other points of access for building the harbour. Passed 6th March, 1834. 4 William IV – Chapter 30 1834 This act incorporates the Port Hope and Rice Lake Canal Company, giving them the power to explore the land between the two regions to determine the best location for their project. It also allows the company to appropriate as much water as necessary from Rice Lake for the project, adding the limitation that they should not surpass the amount that is absolutely necessary for navigation, and they are given permission to build piers and other infrastructure related to the canal. An Act to Incorporate certain persons under the style and title of the Cobourg Rail Road Company. Passed, 6th March, 1834. 4 William IV – Chapter 28 1834 This act incorporates the Cobourg Rail Road company, giving them the rights to build a single iron or wooden railroad between Rice Lake and Lake Ontario near Cobourg. They have the right to survey all the land in between Rice Lake and Cobourg in order to choose the best location for a railway, as well as permission to build over any roads or waterways that may impede their path from Rice Lake to Cobourg. An Act to regulate the manner of proceeding upon contested Elections of Members to serve in the House of Assembly, and to repeal certain Acts therein mentioned. An Act to remove certain difficulties with regard to the Elections of Common Councilmen, in the Cities of Quebec and Montreal. Passed 6th March, 1834. 4 William IV – Chapter 26 1834 This act establishes a police force in the town of Port Hope. It specifies the creation of a police board, how members are to be elected to this board, who can be elected, when elections are to be held, and divides the town into four wards for the purposes of these elections. It also specifies a procedure to follow should anybody lodge a complaint against members of the police board, and allows the board to pass ordinances relating to the maintenance of local public order such as the inspection of dwelling-houses and the maintenance of a fire department. An Act to make provision for indemnifying Pilots while detained in Quarantine.
