  • Description
    This act incorporates the Port Hope and Rice Lake Canal Company, giving them the power to explore the land between the two regions to determine the best location for their project. It also allows the company to appropriate as much water as necessary from Rice Lake for the project, adding the limitation that they should not surpass the amount that is absolutely necessary for navigation, and they are given permission to build piers and other infrastructure related to the canal.
