  • Description
    This act establishes a police force in the town of Port Hope. It specifies the creation of a police board, how members are to be elected to this board, who can be elected, when elections are to be held, and divides the town into four wards for the purposes of these elections. It also specifies a procedure to follow should anybody lodge a complaint against members of the police board, and allows the board to pass ordinances relating to the maintenance of local public order such as the inspection of dwelling-houses and the maintenance of a fire department.
