An Act to amend the Laws relating to the Collection of Duties on Imports from the United States into this Province, and for other purposes therein mentioned. Passed 4th March, 1837. 7 William IV – Chapter 25 1837 This act repeals and amends an act first passed in 1824. The amended clauses primarily concern the amount of money the individual in charge of collecting duties on imports from the United States is permitted to retain for himself as a salary, which is changed to five pounds for every hundred pounds to a maximum of three hundred pounds per year. An Act to compel Vessels to carry a Light during the Night, and to make sundry provisions to regulate the Navigation of the Waters of this Province. Passed 4th March, 1837. 7 William IV – Chapter 22 1837 This act aims to make boats and passenger wharves and gangways safer by legislating lights on all watercrafts after dark, "dark" being defined as one hour after sunset and one hour before sunrise. It also requires secured gangways and handrails with sufficient lighting on wharves and gangways, as well as other matters regarding security while navigating provincial waters. An Act to authorise the Members of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly of this Province, to Frank Letters by the General Post, during the Sessions of the Legislature. Passed 4th March, 1837. 7 William IV – Chapter 21 1837 This act allows members of the legislative council and house of assembly to superscribe letters sent by the post so as to avoid paying postage during the sitting of any session. This applies to a maximum of ten letters or parcels per day, and can be sent anywhere within the empire. It also makes the reception of parcels less than six ounces free of postage for the members of the legislative council and assembly. The act takes effect January 1st 1838. Early Canadiana Online

An Act to amend the Laws now in force regulating the Sale of Lands for arrear of Taxes, and for other purposes therein mentioned.
