  • Description
    This act allows members of the legislative council and house of assembly to superscribe letters sent by the post so as to avoid paying postage during the sitting of any session. This applies to a maximum of ten letters or parcels per day, and can be sent anywhere within the empire. It also makes the reception of parcels less than six ounces free of postage for the members of the legislative council and assembly. The act takes effect January 1st 1838.
