This act grants various sums of money to build or repair roads throughout the province, and appoints commissioners to manage the distribution of funds as well as the supervision of road repairs and construction in various communities.
This Act makes provisions for the construction of a railroad along the River Saint Lawrence, opposite to the City of Quebec to the boundary of Maine, as specified. The railroad's proprietors are listed and made a body politic and corporate by the name “The Kennebec Rail Road Company." Their rights, duties, and the terms under which they may operate are outlined. Stipulations for the construction and maintenance of the railroad are provided.

This act authorises a loan to the Welland Canal Company, in order to enable them to pay contractors to complete construction and repairs on the locks and canals and enable them to open the following spring.
Under this Act, the 1830 Act, "An Act to appropriate a certain sum of money towards the erection of a Light House on the Island of Saint Paul, and to provide for the maintenance thereof," is repealed. The Act outlines how sites on the Island of Saint Paul are to be proposed as possible sites for the construction of a lighthouse sand how they should be surveyed, and how expenses will be paid.
