An Act for the relief of insane persons and for the support of Foundlings and others therein mentioned. (21st March, 1811.) 51 George III Chapter 15 1811 An Act to provide support to people of "deranged Intellect," incapable of earning their subsistence, foundlings, sick and infirm persons, as well as the support of Religious communities that administer relief, as the most recent act for the purpose (passed 1808) was to expire. This Act grants a sum not exceeding fifteen hundred pounds per annum for the benefit of foundlings or the mentally infirm and dictates who will be responsible to administer this money. An Act to correct an accidental Error in the Act therein mentioned for the relief of Insane Persons and others. An Act in amendment of an Act, passed in the first year of his present Majesty’s Reign, entitled, “An Act to prevent the spreading of contagious Distempers,” and also in amendment of an Act, passed in the sixteenth year of the said Reign, entitled, “An Act in addition to the before recited Act.” 39 George III – Chapter 3 1799 An amendment to an act first passed in 1761, and subsequently amended. The current amendment expands the power to quarantine any foreign vessel arriving in any of the province's ports should be quarantined for as long as should be deemed safest by the governor, lieutenant-governor, or commander-in-chief rather than a pre-determined number of days. Passed the 12th March 1796. 36 George III Chapter 5 1796 To better prevent the spread of disease in Saint John this act creates new restrictions on ships entering harbour with sick people on board, and allows the city to appoint physicians to inspect ships and recommend fines for violators. An Act to oblige ships and vessels coming from places infected with the plague or any pestilential fever or desease to perform Quarentine, and prevent the communication thereof in this Province. 35 George III – Chapter 5 1795 This act requires that any ship entering Lower Canada coming from a place where there has been an outbreak of plague, pestilence, or disease be quarantined for a period of time to be determined by the chief administrator of the province.
