This act aims to preserve the banks of the Saint John River in certain parishes by prohibiting livestock from grazing these banks, establishes fines for owners who do not abide by these terms, and allows local Justices of the Peace to erect swing gates and water fences along the highway to prevent such grazing.
This act allows town meetings in every district to determine when and in what manner livestock may be allowed to run at large in their respective divisions.
