An Act granting to His Majesty a sum of Money to be applied for the Encouragement of the Cultivation of Hemp, within this Province. Passed 1st April, 1816. 56 George III – Chapter 35 (1) 1816 This act permits the payment of a twenty pound bounty for the production of every quintal of hemp, and appoints inspectors for every district within the province to assure the quality of hemp production.
