An Act to alter and diminish certain Rates and Tolls of the Lachine Canal, for a limited time, and for other purposes (29th March, 1826.) | 6 George IV Chapter 3 | 1826 | An Act to reduce certain of the Rates, Tolls and duties on vessels, boats, merchandise and effects passing upon the Lachine Canal as outlined. Under this Act, the third clause of an Act from 1822 “An Act to authorize the Commissioners appointed for the completion of the Canal between Lachine and Montreal to effect a Loan for that purpose, and to establish rates of Toll to pass thereon,” is repealed and replaced. An Act to provide for the summary trial of certain small causes. An Act for the better ascertaining the Duties or Tea imported in this Province direct from China, and for other purposes thereunto relating. Under this Act, Agents of the East India Company in Canada are to give an invoice describing each ship’s cargo to the Custom House at Quebec before they break bulk. An Act to authorize Jean Baptiste Lague to build a Toll-Bridge over the River des Hurons in the District of Montreal. (22d. March, 1825.) | 5 George IV – Chapter 36 | 1825 | An act authorising Jean Baptiste Lague to build and collect a toll on a bridge crossing the Rivière des Hurons in the District of Montreal in the Parish of Saint Mathias. Lague is granted the authority to take and use of the land required to build the bridge. Standards and stipulations for the bridge's construction and maintenance are outlined. The allowable tolls that can be charged are described, as well as those to be excepted from tolls. Additionally, after a period of fifty years, it is made lawful for the Crown to assume possession of the bridge. An Act to regulate the Common of the Parish of Saint Antoine of the River du Loup, in the County of Saint Maurice. An Act to repeal certain Acts therein-mentioned, and to consolidate the Laws relating to the Election of Members to serve in the Assembly of this Province, and to the duty of Returning Officers, and for other purposes.
