An Act to facilitate the execution of the Act of the fifty seventh George the Third, Chapter thirteen, inasmuch as it relates to the appointment of Commissioners for the improvement of the Navigation of the River Richelieu and to appropriate a sum of Money therein mentioned for that purpose. 6 George IV Chapter 33 1826 An Act to make further provisions to carry the purposes of the 1817 Act “An Act to make more effectual provision for the improvement of the Internal Communications of this Province,” as pertains to the improvement of the Navigation of the River Richelieu, between Sorel and Fort Chambly into effect. An Act to appropriate a further Sum of Money towards the Settlement of the Road between Saint Joachim and the Bay Saint Paul, in the County of Northumberland. 6 George IV Chapter 32 1826 This Act grants a sum not exceeding five hundred pounds towards to the encouragement of settlements on the road between Saint Joachim and the Baie-Saint-Paul in the County of Northumberland, in addition to the five hundred pounds granted in 1825 under “An Act to appropriate a sum of money towards promoting the improvement of the Road of Communication between Saint Joachim and the Bay Saint Paul.” The Act amends and repeals certain articles of the 1825 Act. An Act to appropriate a certain Sum of Money therein-mentioned for the encouragement of Agriculture. 6 George IV Chapter 31 1826 Under this Act, it is made lawful for the Governor, Lieutenant Governor or person administering the Government of the Province to advance a sum not exceeding sixteen hundred pounds to the Agricultural Societies for the Districts of Quebec, Montreal, Trois-Rivières, and Gaspe for the encouragement of agricultural improvement in the province. The Act also stipulates that that the Members of the Legislature and the resident Clergy, are to be honorary Members of the District Agricultural Society for the District within which they reside. An Act to appropriate certain Sums of Money towards certain necessary work and repairs in the Common Gaol of the District of Quebec. 6 George IV Chapter 30 1826 Under this Act, it is made lawful for the Governor, Lieutenant Governor or Person administering the Government of the Province to provide a sum not exceeding fifteen hundred and seventy-three pounds, nine shillings and eight pence towards making repairs to the Common Gaol for the District of Quebec, in addition to funds necessary towards Hydraulic Works in the Gaol, and to convert an adjacent building into a prison and house of correction. An Act to authorize Robert Jones to build a Toll Bridge over the River Richelieu, in the Parish of Saint Luke at Saint Johns, near the Rapids, to fix the rates of Toll for passing thereon, and to provide Regulations for the same. (29th March, 1826.) 6 George IV Chapter 29 1826 An act authorising Robert Jones to build and collect a toll on a bridge crossing the River Richelieu, in the Parish of Saint Luke at Saint Johns, near the Rapids. Jones is granted the authority to take and use of the land required to build the bridge. Standards and stipulations for the bridge's construction and maintenance are outlined. The allowable tolls that can be charged are described, as well as those to be excepted from tolls. Additionally, after a period of fifty years, it is made lawful for the Crown to assume possession of the bridge. An Act to continue for a limited time, a certain Act therein-mentioned, passed in the fourth year of His Majesty’s Reign, intituled, “An Act to repeal a certain Act therein-mentioned, and to provide for the Police of the Borough of William Henry and certain other Villages in this Province.” (29th March, 1826.) 6 George IV Chapter 27 1826 An Act to continue an Act passed in 1824 that replaces two former Acts regarding the Policing villages and boroughs. Under the 1824 Act, these communities were to elect Trustees to enforce rules and regulations outlined within it, largely pertaining to fire prevention. (29th March, 1826.) 6 George IV Chapter 25 1826 An Act to amend and continue two Acts; “An Act to amend a certain Act therein-mentioned, and further to extend the Jurisdiction of the Provincial Court for the Interior District of Gaspé,” passed in 1824; and “An Act to extend the provisions of a certain Act therein-mentioned, as far as the same relates to the Judicature in the lnferior District of Gaspe, and more effectually to provide for the due administration of Justice in the said District,” passed in 1822. An Act to authorize the Chairman and Trustees of the Common of Three-Rivers, to acquire and grant certain lots of ground therein- mentioned. (29th March, 1826.) 6 George IV Chapter 24 1826 Under this Act, the Chairman and Trustees of the Common of the Town of Three-Rivers are authorised to concede or grant town lots from the Common of Trois-Rivières under the conditions as outlined.
