An Act for reviving and continuing for a limited time, and amending an Act passed in the forty-third year of His Majesty’s Reign, intituled, “An Act for the better Regulation of the Militia of this Province, and for repealing certain Acts or Ordinances therein-mentioned.” (22 March, 1817.) 57 George III Chapter 32 1817 An act to revive a former act originally passed in 1803 and amended in 1812. The amended act declares that all men between the ages of eighteen and fifty are to be militia men, bound to serve in their division's militia. An Act establishing Regulations, respecting Aliens. (22 March, 1817.) 57 George III Chapter 20 1817 Under this Act, Aliens who are native to France and bore arms or held office in service France or her colonies during the revolution are to be arrested for a period not more than two months upon entering the province. An Act to amend an Act, passed in the forty eighth Year of His Majesty’s Reign, entitled, “An Act to explain, amend and reduce to one Act of Parliament, the several Laws now in being, for the Raising and Training the Militia of this Province.” Passed 1st April, 1816. 56 George III – Chapter 32 1816 This act amends certain clauses within an act passed in 1808 which consolidated all militia acts regarding training into one act of parliament. Passed 1st April, 1816. 56 George III – Chapter 31 1816 This act grants a sum of money to Elizabeth Wright, the widow of Charles Wright, a tailor of the Niagara region. An Act Granting Relief to Charlotte Overholt. Passed 22d March, 1816. 56 George III – Chapter 13 1816 This act provides a pension for Charlotte Overholt, the widow of Abraham Overholt, a soldier killed during the war of 1812. The preamble of the act specifies that he was not killed in action but rather "died under peculiar circumstances" and therefore Mrs. Overhold does not fall under the 1813 act allowing for widows of soldiers to be granted an annuity; this act makes an exception within the law to provide for her.
