This Act provides funds for several salaries, as well as the cost of Stationary, Printing and Postage for some offices of the Militia for the present year, 1832. The processes by which these funds should be accounted for are outlined.
This Act, dating retroactively to January 30, 1830, extends a previous Act regarding military pensions. It is to remain in effect for four years plus the time to the final day of the next sitting of the Legislature.
This Act determines who is liable to serve as militiamen for the Province, and who is to be exempted. Under this Act, all able-bodied men having resided in the Province more than six months, between the ages of 18 and 60, may serve in the militia—except in the cases outlined. This Act outlines how militiamen should be selected, trained, and serve in the case of war or an invasion. This Act is to remain in force until 1832.
The repeal of an act first passed in 1804 which allowed This act allows senior magistrates to arrest persons not having lived in Upper Canada for at least six months.
This act amends provisions in previous militia legislation to make new provisions for the militia of the City of Saint John more appropriate for its circumstances and needs.
