This Act continues an Act first passed in 1796 which allows for the suspension of any ordinance, in whole or in part, of any ordinance or act of this province relative to trade by the Governor or Lieutenant Governor, and to give directions and make regulations with respect to imports, exports, duties, or anything else between Lower Canada and the United States.
This Act renews an act first passed in 1797, which established terms under which certain prisoners can seek justice under Habeas Corpus, depending on what crimes they have been imprisoned, and how long they have been imprisoned.
An amendment to an act first passed in 1762, and which had been amended several times prior. This particular amendment extends the terms of the act to the town of Liverpool, which was not included in the amendment of 1793, which saw the inclusion of towns beyond Halifax, the original jurisdiction of the 1762 act.
