An Act to amend an Act passed in the ninth year of His Majesty’s Reign, intituled, “An Act to appropriate a certain sum of Money towards erecting Light Houses on the Shores of the River Saint Lawrence and for other purposes therein mentioned.” (26th March, 1830.) 10 & 11 George IV Chapter 13 1830 This Act amends the 1829 Act “An Act to appropriate a certain sum of Money towards erecting Light Houses on the Shores of the River Saint Lawrence and for other purposes therein mentioned.” Under this Act, the place where a lighthouse is to be erected on the Island of Anticosti is changed from the island’s west point to its southwest point. An Act to appropriate a certain sum of Money therein mentioned for the purpose of improving the Internal Communications of this Province. (26th March, 1830.) 10 & 11 George IV Chapter 10 1830 This Act advances a sum not exceeding thirty-eight thousand three hundred and ninety-one pounds six shillings and seven pence currency to be applied to the improvement of the Internal Communications in the Province, including improvements to and construction of roads, and changes to several waterways. An Act to authorize the expenditure of a certain Sum of Money and to grant certain powers to the Commissioners of the La Chine Canal. (26th March, 1830.) 10 & 11 George IV Chapter 9 1830 This Act grants the commissioners of the Lachine Canal, appointed under the 1829 Act, “An Act to establish certain Rates, Tolls and Duties on the La Chine Canal, and to provide for the care and management of the said Canal,” the authority to deepen and clear Riviere Saint-Pierre and Lac Saint-Pierre. The Act clarifies questions arising from the 1821 Act, “An Act for making a Navigable Canal, from the neighbourhood of Montreal to the Parish of La Chine, and to appropriate a certain Sum of money for that purpose, and to repeal a certain Act therein mentioned,” pertaining to indemnification for damages. An Act to Incorporate certain Persons therein named, under the style and title of the “Port Hope Harbour and Wharf Company.” Passed 20th March, 1829. 10 George IV – Chapter 12 1829 This act incorporates the Port Hope Harbour and Wharf Company, and empowers them to build a harbour and any related infrastructure such as wharves, buildings, or anything else that serves to help in navigation or protection of the harbour. An Act to Improve the Navigation of Lake Ontario, by authorising the construction of a Harbour at Cobourg, by a Joint Stock Company. Passed 20th March, 1829. 10 George IV – Chapter 11 1829 This act incorporates the Cobourg Habour Company and empowers them to build a harbour at Cobourg to facilitate navigation. It also permits the company to collect tolls from incoming vessels once the harbour is constructed, specifying what tolls shall be collected on what goods. The processes by which they are to be appointed, their duties, and allowable expenses are outlined. Stipulations and standards for these repairs are described.
