An Act to amend an Act passed in the seventh year of the, reign of His late Majesty King William the Fourth, entitled “An Act granting to His Majesty a sum of money, for the erection of certain Light Houses within this Province, and for other purposes therein mentioned.” Passed May 11th, 1839. 2 Victoria – Chapter 22 1839 This act places a duty of one shilling per ton on vessels in order to help pay the interest on a loan made by the crown to help build lighthouses in the province. An Ordinance to suspend in part certain Acts therein mentioned, and to establish and incorporate a Trinity House in the City of Montreal. 2 Victoria Chapter 19 (Session 4) 1839 This Ordinance establishes a Trinity House at Montréal for the better regulation of the Saint Lawrence River around Portneuf and the city. This Ordinance suspends replaces sections of several former Acts, as outlined, and vests authority formerly distributed by these Acts in the Deputy Master and Wardens of the Trinity House, as described.
