An Act to extend the powers of the Mayor, Aldermen, and Commonalty, of the City of Saint John, for preventing the incumbering and filling up of the Harbour of the said City, to the Waters and Places of Anchorage in the Vicinity thereof. An Act to extend the provisions of two Acts therein-mentioned, for the summary trial of Small Causes, to the Inferior District of Saint Francis, and to confirm certain judgements and proceedings of the Commissioners therein. This Act also confirms that all judgements made under the 1823 Act “An Act to erect certain Townships therein-mentioned into an Inferior District, to be called the Inferior District of Saint Francis, and to establish Courts of Judicature therein,” are lawful. An Act to authorise the sale and disposal of certain Goods, unclaimed and remaining in the possession of the Clerks of the Peace, in this Province. (9th March, 1824.) 4 George IV Chapter 21 1824 Under this Act Clerks of the Peace in the Districts of Quebec, Montreal and Trois-Rivières are to keep a Book of records for all Goods or Effects brought to their respective offices as having been stolen or suspected to be stolen so that all unclaimed items may be put up for public auction at each term of the Court of King’s Bench for Criminal Pleas.
