A continuation of several past acts regarding the funding of road maintenance in the province. Included are a few amendments pertaining to wagons which may impede the road either by leaving debris or using chains on their wheels.
A continuation and amendment of an act first passed in 1812 which imposes a duty on ships entering Liverpool Harbour in order to support a lighthouse on Coffin's Island.
This act amends a 1788 act, expanding the duties paid by vessles to support the lighthouse at Patridge Island to all ships, not just those based in the port of Saint John.
This act amends an 1801 act which originally only applied to Halifax, extending the reach of the original act to also apply to the towns of Pictou and Annapolis Royal. The 1801 act has been amended to extend to other towns within Nova Scotia in a similar fashion prior to this amendment, in both 1821 and 1822.
A continuation and amendment of an act first passed in 1822 which establishes a duty to be collected at all harbours adjacent to the gut of Canso to support the Cranberry Island lighthouse.
This act amends an 1822 act for fire prevention in Fredericton and Saint Andrews, making fines and penalties collected under the said act payable to the local fire wardens rather than overseers of the poor.
A continuation of an act passed in 1822, which amends past acts concerning the mandatory labour required of residents to maintain roads, highways and bridges.
This act allows for the appointment of commissioners to assure the maintenance and care of diked marshlands (former Acadian aboiteaux), and specifies provisions for cases where a part of a dike or marshland requiring maintenance is located on private property. This act replaces all past acts regarding the maintenance of diked marshes.
This act makes a part of the parish of St. Stephen into a separate town and parish, Saint James, lays out its boundaries, and establishes what authority its officials have.
