An Act for the more certain and expeditious distribution of the Printed Acts of the Legislature of this Province. (22d. March, 1825.) 5 George IV – Chapter 5 1825 An Act to allow for the early circulation of printed acts in the province. Under this Act, Clerks of the Peace are to distribute Acts to Parsonage Houses in the Country Parishes within their districts as soon as possible after the close of each Session. An Act to Repeal part of the Second Clause of an Act passed in the Thirty-Third Year of His Late Majesty’s Reign, entitled, “An Act to Provide for the Nomination and Appointment of Parish and Town Officers, within this Province and to make more Effectual Provision for obtaining an Accurate Census of the Population of this Province. An Act relating to Marriages, and the issuing of Marriage Licenses. 59 George III – Chapter 16 1819 This act clarifies marriage law, allowing the Governor, Lieutenant-Governor, or Commander in Chief to issue marriage licenses to anybody within the province no matter their religious persuasion, rather than requiring them to conform to the book of common prayer. An Act to correct an accidental Error in the Act therein mentioned for the relief of Insane Persons and others. (15th May, 1809.) 49 George III Chapter 3 1809 An Act to correct an error that effected the date at which the 1808 Act to apply a certain sum for the relief of insane persons and the support of foundlings could take effect. The Act retroactively fulfills the terms of the former, to advance a sum for the support of people of 'deranged Intellect', incapable of earning their subsistence, foundlings, sick and infirm persons, as well as the support of Religious communities that administer relief. Passed 9th March, 1804. 44 George III – Chapter 9 1804 This Act states that, beginning this year and continuing until construction is complete, his Majesty the King be paid 400 pounds annually from the coffers of the Receiver General of Upper Canada, in order to erect buildings to house government offices and meeting rooms for such bodies as the Legislative Council, the Assembly, the Executive Council, and the Courts of Justice. An Act to promulgate the Provincial Statutes, and also to repeal so much of an Act passed in the forty-first year of the reign of his present Majesty, as relates to Printing the Journals. Passed 9th March, 1804. 44 George III – Chapter 5 1804 This Act repeals certain details of an earlier Act regarding funding for the publication of the Journals of the House of Assembly and the Legislative Council, and stipulates that 300 pounds be spent to collate and print all the laws of Upper Canada to date. The Act further stipulates how the various printed copies of the laws are to be distributed, and that 80 pounds be spent in each succeeding year to print the laws passed during that year.
