  • Description
This act clarifies marriage law, allowing the Governor, Lieutenant-Governor, or Commander in Chief to issue marriage licenses to anybody within the province no matter their religious persuasion, rather than requiring them to conform to the book of common prayer. The form of the marriage license is specified within the act, and clarifies that marriages still need to be solemnized by approved clergymen.
