March, 1823.) 3 George IV Chapter 28 1823 An Act to continue and amend an Act originally passed in 1803 “An Act for the better regulation of the Militia of this Province, and for repealing certain Acts or Ordinances therein mentioned,” that was amended in 1817 and 1819. This Act amends a clause relating to sums to be appropriated for the payment of certain Militia Offers and further enacts that a sum shall be put towards defraying expenses incurred by prosecuting delinquents or offenders of Militia laws. An Act further to continue for a limited time two certain Acts therein-mentioned, relating to Houses of Correction in the several Districts of this Province. (22d. March, 1823.) 3 George IV Chapter 27 1823 An Act to further continue a former Act from 1817, amended in 1818, and continued in 1819 and 1821 that provided temporary Houses of Correction in several districts, including the District of Quebec, District of Montreal, and District of Trois-Rivières. The 1818 Act revised the budget for each district's temporary gaol and provides an annual allowance to the Committees appointed to superintend the Houses of Correction in the Districts of Quebec, Montreal, and Trois-Rivières for the purposes described. By the 1817 Act committees are required to give an annual report of their expenses and processes by which the committees are to be appointed and proceed were also outlined. March, 1823.) 3 George IV Chapter 26 1823 An Act to grant a sum not exceeding eight hundred and fifty pounds to to the President or Treasurer, or other proper Officer of the Society of Montreal General Hospital and a sum not exceeding two thousand one hundred and thirty-nine pounds, six shillings and nine pence to the Religious Ladies Hospitalières of the Hotel Dieu of Quebec to complete construction. An Act for the Establishment of Fairs, in this Province. (22d. March, 1823.) 3 George IV Chapter 21 1823 An Act to establish fairs within the province to promote the interests of Agriculture. The Governor, Lieutenant-Governor, or person administering the Government is to determine the time and place of these fairs, which are to be held under the rules and regulations as made by Justices of the Peace for each District.
