An Act to amend and continue for a limited time a certain Act passed in the First year of the Reign of His late Majesty, intituled, “An Act for the Incorporation of certain persons therein-mentioned, under the name of the ‘Quebec Bank.’” (31st March, 1831.) 1 William IV Chapter 13 1831 This Act amends and continues the 1821 Act, “An Act for the Incorporation of certain persons therein-mentioned, under the name of the ‘Quebec Bank.’” The rate of Capital Stock is amended, including how these changes should be implemented, and some regulations on the Board of Directors are altered. An Act to make further provision for the encouragement of Education in this Province, and to amend two certain Acts therein mentioned. An Act for the Relief of John Eastwood and Colin Skinner. Passed 6th March, 1830. 11 George IV – Chapter 35 1830 This Act provides for 125 pounds to reimburse John Eastwood and Colin Skinner, who make paper, for the duties they have paid on machinery related to their trade which they have "imported . . . from the United States." An Act to Pension Charlotte Pomeroy, Widow of the late Timothy Conklin Pomeroy. Passed 6th March, 1830. 11 George IV – Chapter 18 1830 This Act provides for an annual pension of twenty pounds for Charlotte Pomeroy, whose husband was killed in the course of duty as a law enforcement officer. An Act to authorize James Porteous, Esquire, to build a Toll-Bridge over the River Jesus, opposite the village of Sainte Rose. (26th March, 1830.) 10 & 11 George IV Chapter 56 1830 This Act authorises James Porteous, Esquire to build and collect a toll on a bridge crossing the River Jesus, or Saint Jean opposite the village Sainte Rose, in the County of Effingham, in the District of Montreal. Porteous is granted the authority to take and use of the land required to build the bridge. Standards and stipulations for the bridge's construction and maintenance are outlined. The allowable tolls that can be charged are described, as well as those to be excepted from tolls. Additionally, after a period of fifty years, it is made lawful for the Crown to assume possession of the bridge. (26th March, 1830.) 10 & 11 George IV Chapter 55 1830 This Act authorises Eustache Nicolas Lambert Dumont to build and collect a toll on a bridge crossing the River des Prairies at the place called Grosse Pointe or I’abord a Plouffe, between the Parish of Saint Martin and the Parish of Saint Laurent in the District of Montreal. Dumont is granted the authority to take and use of the land required to build the bridge. Standards and stipulations for the bridge's construction and maintenance are outlined. (26th March, 1830.) 10 & 11 George IV Chapter 49 1830 An Act to permit several individuals to form the "Quebec Friendly Society" to collect voluntary contributions from its members for their mutual relief and maintenance in sickness, old age and infirmity. A committee composed of society members is to form to establish the rules, orders, and regulations according to the terms of this Act.
