An act legislating emergency measures to be taken on steamboats, and penalties to be enacted against any steamboat master who shall neglect to execute these measures.
Under this Act, the 1830 Act, "An Act to appropriate a certain sum of money towards the erection of a Light House on the Island of Saint Paul, and to provide for the maintenance thereof," is repealed. The Act outlines how sites on the Island of Saint Paul are to be proposed as possible sites for the construction of a lighthouse sand how they should be surveyed, and how expenses will be paid.
This Act amends the duties of the Commissioners appointed under the 1831 Act, "An Act to authorize the appointment of Commissioners to treat with Commissioners on the part of Upper-Canada, respecting the drawing of a division line between Lower and Upper Canada," in light of a Proclamation made in 1791.
This Act repeals the 1808 Act “An Act for making perpetual, with some amendments, the Act, intituled, ‘An Act for the appointment of an Inspector and Measurers of Scows and Rafts, and for regulating the Pilots and Conductors thereof, between Chateauguay and the City of Montreal.” The Act also sets a fine for anyone leaving their raft or crib of wood in the Saint Louis Rapids for longer than 36 hours.
Under this Act, commissioners are to be appointed to consult with commissioners from Upper Canada on several matters including: collecting of duties on importations, the improvement of the navigation of the Rivers Saint Lawrence and Ottawa, and Roads of Communication between the two Provinces. The processes by which commissioners are to be appointed, their privileges, and duties are outlined.
This act establishes new regulations for the packaging of fish being imported into New Brunswick to ensure its quality, and penalties for their violation.
This act allows a sum of six hundred pounds to be transferred to the crown in order to pay the arbiters who have been appointed to negotiate trade and trade regulations between Lower and Upper Canada.
