This Ordinance provides for the appointment of Inspectors of Fish and Oil for the cities of Québec and Montréal. Their duties, rates to be charged, and the processes by which they may be replaced are described. The grades of and meaning of labels for Fish and Oil are listed.
This Ordinance suspends and replaces certain sections of an Ordinance passed earlier in this session of Parliament, "An Ordinance to suspend certain Acts therein mentioned, and to regulate in a better manner the packing and inspection of Flour and Indian Meal,” relating to the construction, materials, branding, and markings of Flour and Meal casks.
This Ordinance amends the 24th section of the 1799 Act, “An Act for repealing certain Acts granting rates and duties to His Majesty, and for granting new and additional duties in lieu thereof, and for appropriating the same towards defraying the expenses of the administration of Justice and support of the Civil Government within this Province, and for other purposes therein mentioned." This Ordinance is to remain in force until 1842.
This act authorises the trustees of the Market reserve of Niagara to borrow one thousand five hundred pounds in order to expand the market house, which has been deemed too small for their purposes.

It includes specifications regarding the granting of licenses to innkeepers, and stipulates that revenue raised through the sale of such licenses be used to upgrade roads and bridges.
