The 1821 Act redefined the responsibilities of Churchwardens, Militiamen, and Peace Officers and the penalties for those who neglect these duties or the Act's terms. An Act to empower certain Trustees therein mentioned, to sell and convey a certain Lot of Land in the Town of York, and to purchase another Lot or Tract of Land for the use and accommodation of a Roman Catholic Congregation. (17th March, 1821.) 1 George IV Chapter 1 1821 An Act to repeal and replace an Act passed in 1817, "An Act to provide for the maintenance of good order on Sundays and Holidays." The Act redefines the responsibilities of Churchwardens to maintain good order and the penalties those who neglect these duties will be responsible for. An Act to repeal and alter part of an Act, passed in the fifty-sixth year of His Majesty’s reign, entitled, “An Act for Founding, Establishing and Maintaining, an Academy at Pictou, in this Province.” 59 George III – Chapter 15 1819 This act repeals the second clause of an act first passed in 1816, which established the Pictou Academy and set out the manner in which its trustees are to operate as well as how they may be appointed. The second clause required trustees to declare their membership in the Church of England, or otherwise declare they professed the Presbyterian religion.
