  • Description
This act repeals the second clause of an act first passed in 1816, which established the Pictou Academy and set out the manner in which its trustees are to operate as well as how they may be appointed. The second clause required trustees to declare their membership in the Church of England, or otherwise declare they professed the Presbyterian religion. The replacement clause requires trustees to proclaim themselves Christians "according to the Presbyterian principles and forms of the church of Scotland."
