An Act to amend, render more effectual, and reduce into one Act, the several Laws made by the General Assembly of this Province, relating to the Duties of Impost on Beer, Rum, and other distilled Spirituous Liquors. 8 George III – Chapter 18 (Session 2) 1768 This Act replaces the several former Acts relating to duties of impost on beer, rum, and other distilled spirituous liquors. Rates of impost duties are set at two shillings six pence for every barrel of beer and five pence per gallon of rum or other liquor. The Act sets the excise at six pence per gallon of wine, one shilling per pound of tea, two pence per pound of coffee, and one shilling per pack of cards.
