DescriptionThis Act replaces the several former Acts relating to duties of impost on beer, rum, and other distilled spirituous liquors. Rates of impost duties are set at two shillings six pence for every barrel of beer and five pence per gallon of rum or other liquor. Penalties for those who do not pay their duties and the processes by which this Act will be enforced are outlined. This Act is to remain in force in 1771.
