An Act to Amend the Militia Law of that part of this Province formerly constituting the Province of Upper Canada. 17th August 1841. 4 & 5 Victoria – Chapter 2 1841 Act to Amend Militia Law. Allows for exemption of Quakers, Mennonits, and Tunkers from the Militia as long as a certificate of religious practice is provided and they pay annually ten shillings in peacetime and five shillings in times of conflict to the Town Assessor.
