An Act to correct an accidental Error in the Act therein mentioned for the relief of Insane Persons and others. (15th May, 1809.) 49 George III Chapter 3 1809 An Act to correct an error that effected the date at which the 1808 Act to apply a certain sum for the relief of insane persons and the support of foundlings could take effect. The Act retroactively fulfills the terms of the former, to advance a sum for the support of people of 'deranged Intellect', incapable of earning their subsistence, foundlings, sick and infirm persons, as well as the support of Religious communities that administer relief. The Act allows the suspension of any act or ordinance relating to trade, in whole or in part, by the Governor or Lieutenant Governor. An Act for Quartering and Billeting on certain occasions His Majesty’s Troops and the Militia of this Province. (Passed 5th March, 1809.) 49 George III – Chapter 2 1809 This act describes the obligations of both the militia and/or regular troops and local property owners in cases where it is necessary for officers to make use of local resources such as horses, carts, and houses for billeting when marching through an area. Details include how warrants for temporary seizure of property are to be obtained, rates to be paid to property owners for the use of their animals and carts, and penalties for home owners who refuse to billet soldiers.
