This act continues prior legislation enabling the chief administrator of Upper Canada to appoint collectors at points or ports of entry throughout the province.
This act amends two acts passed in 1793, one of which made it law for parish constables to nominate parish or town officers to assess and collect any rates or taxes passed by the legislature, the other which created eight classes of householders whose property is subject to various rates of taxation.

This act repeals an act first passed in 1795 which created a board of surgeons to grant licenses to physicians, surgeons, and midwives, and prohibts anyone not licensed from practising medicine.
