An Act for making a Navigable Canal, from the neighbourhood of Montreal to the Parish of Lachine, and to appropriate a certain sum of money for that purpose, and to repeal a certain Act therein-mentioned. The terms by which the Canal's construction is to be completed, and the funds to be appropriated for that cause are described. The act declares that all men between the ages of eighteen and fifty are to be militia men, bound to serve in their division's militia.The act also outlines who is to be excepted from this law, how order is to be maintained, and how these men are to be enrolled and trained.
