An Act for the establishment of a Temporary Fever Hospital for the reception of persons infected with Contagious Diseases. An Act to amend an Act passed in the thirty-fourth year of the Reign of His late Majesty George the Third, intituled. “An Act for the division of the Province of Lower Canada to amend the Judicature thereof and to repeal certain Laws therein mentioned” inasmuch as the same relates to the Courts of Criminal Jurisdiction. (26th March, 1830.) 10 & 11 George IV Chapter 16 1830 This Act amends an Act passed in 1793, “An Act for the division of the Province of Lower Canada for amending the Judicature thereof and for repealing certain Laws therein mentioned.” Under this Act, any two of the Puisné Justices of the Court of King’s Bench in either of the Districts of Quebec or Montreal are allowed to take cognizance of crimes and criminal offences as if a Chief Justice were present. (26th March, 1830.) 10 & 11 George IV Chapter 15 1830 This Act establishes the body corporate and politic, by the name of “The Quebec Exchange,” who are allowed to build or maintain a building for merchants and others engaged in the pursuits of trade and navigation to meet, bargain, buy and sell goods and commodities, and for the sale and purchase of Bills of Exchange. An Act to amend an Act passed in the ninth year of His Majesty’s Reign, concerning Elementary Education, and to make further provision for the instruction of youth. (26th March, 1830.) 10 & 11 George IV Chapter 14 1830 This Act amends the 1829 Act “An Act for the encouragement of Elementary Education,” so that Rectors, Curates, and Ministers may serve as Trustees as defined in the former Act, despite not being freeholders. Several sums are to be distributed, under this Act, to defray expenses related to education, such as for the support of schools and printing books.
