An Ordinance to abolish the practice of permitting Defendants to Traverse Indictments, for misdemeanors, before Courts of Oyer and Terminer, in this Province. 2 Victoria Chapter 23 (Session 4) 1839 Under this Ordinance, defendants are required to plead to any indictments for misdemeanors at the trial in Courts of Oyer and Terminer in which the indictment is found, unless good cause is found for putting off the trial.
