This is a revival of an act first passed in 1860 which legislates the use of wagons and wheeled carts, the proper penning of farm animals and cart horses, inspection of chimneys, the fencing of property abutting dangerous cliffs or coves, and the penalties for not following these laws in the towns of St. John's, Harbor Grace, Carbonear and Brigus.
This act allows for Carleton County to loan $40,000 to any company to build a branch railway along the Saint Andrews to Quebec line, and stipulates how it will be paid back.
This act repeals an 1856 for Saint John's Church, Chatham, to be incorporated in connection with the Presbyterian Church of Nova Scotia and restores local autonomy.
