An Act to appoint three commissioners to meet with commissioners from Upper Canada to determine what measures may be necessary for the improvement of the Saint Lawrence and Ottawa Rivers between the provinces. A sum of five hundred pounds is to be applied to this purpose.
This Act outlines the fees and operation of the inferior courts of the province and continues a former act, “An Act for the Summary Trial of Actions” for an additional year. It explains the role of sheriffs, deputy-sheriffs, and constables in executing orders by the court and also penalties for those who do not abide by its terms.
This act repeals an act first passed in 1795, and makes it illegal for anybody who has sworn allegiance to another country to vote in members of the House of Assembly, stipulating a residency in Upper Canada of a minimum of seven years and the swearing of an oath before being granted this right.
An Act to grant a sum not exceeding twelve hundred pounds to make repairs to the Court House in the City of Montreal. Three commissioners are to be appointed to oversee these repairs.
This Act requires persons transporting gypsum in every township or settlement to provide additional statute labour for every vehicle used to transport it.
