This act repeals a clause in a past act called "An Act to make temporary provision for the appropriation of the Funds derived from the sale of School Lands in that part of the Province formerly Upper Canada, and for other purposes," which requires schools be located more than six miles from each other.
This is an amendment to a past act which prevented obstructions in rivers in Upper Canada. The amendment omits the rivers Saint Lawrence, Ottawa, and any rivers which contain salmon, pickerel, black bass or perch from the said amendment.
