This act replaces similar legislation 1786 and 1791 until 1801, and makes new provisions for highway construction, financing and repair, and penalties for those who violate these terms.
To better prevent the spread of disease in Saint John this act creates new restrictions on ships entering harbour with sick people on board, and allows the city to appoint physicians to inspect ships and recommend fines for violators.
As not all act contain a provision stipulating when they take effect, this act clarifies the exact date when legislation passed by the House will take effect.
This act allows for the appointment of commissioners to oversee the erection and maintainence of structures to improve navigation in Saint Andrews and Passamaquoddy Bay.
