An Act to promulgate the Provincial Statutes, and also to repeal so much of an Act passed in the forty-first year of the reign of his present Majesty, as relates to Printing the Journals. Passed 9th March, 1804. 44 George III – Chapter 5 1804 This Act repeals certain details of an earlier Act regarding funding for the publication of the Journals of the House of Assembly and the Legislative Council, and stipulates that 300 pounds be spent to collate and print all the laws of Upper Canada to date. The Act further stipulates how the various printed copies of the laws are to be distributed, and that 80 pounds be spent in each succeeding year to print the laws passed during that year. An Act to repeal so much of an Act passed in the thirty-fourth year of his Majesty’s reign, intituled, “An Act to restrain the custom of permitting Horned Cattle, Horses, Sheep and Swine to run at large,” as relates to Sheep, and to refrain the Owners of Rams from permitting them to run at large during a certain time of the year. Passed 9th March, 1804. 44 George III – Chapter 4 1804 This Act stipulates that sheep-owners not allow their rams to roam at large at any time between September 1st and December 20th; also, that owners who fail to obey this law be fined, and that anyone finding such a ram and unable to ascertain the identity of its owner be permitted to sell the ram after one week's passage. Passed 9th March, 1804. 44 George III – Chapter 3 1804 This Act gave the Court of King's Bench the power to decide upon the fees permitted to various officers of the justice system, including Attorneys and Sheriffs. Previous legislation vesting this power elsewhere was deemed ill-suited to new circumstances in the province, and determined better to be replaced. An Act for the encouragement of the persons who shall apprehend Deserters from His Majesty’s regular Forces in this Province. (2d. An Act to continue, for a limited time, an Act passed in the forty third year of His Majesty’s Reign, intituled, “An Act for establishing Regulations respecting Aliens and certain Subjects of His Majesty who have resided in France coming into this Province, or residing therein.” (2d. May, 1804.) 44 George III Chapter 1 1804 An Act to continue an Act passed in 1803, for a limited time, to monitor the entrance of "foreigners" into the province by ship. The Act requires that ship commanders report the number of "foreigners" on board their vessel to Customs officials when they arrive at ports within the province. The Act grants authority to Justices of the Peace to jail and remove "Aliens" who remain within the province longer than the period allowed by the court.
