An Act to regulate the Herring Fisheries in the Parishes of West-Isles, Campo-Bello [Campobello], Pennfield, and Saint George, in the County of Charlotte. Passed the 24th of March, 1819. 59 George III Chapter 16 1819 This act prohbits harvesting herring in the areas of Charlotte County where they spawn, so to conserve their numbers, and creates penalties for those who violate these terms. An Act to continue for a limited time, two several Acts therein-mentioned, providing Temporary Houses of Correction in the several Districts of this Province, and for other purposes. (24th April, 1819.) 59 George III Chapter 15 1819 An Act to further continue a former Act from 1817 and amended in 1818 that provided temporary Houses of Correction in several districts, including the District of Quebec, District of Montreal, and District of Trois-Rivières. The 1818 Act revised the budget for each district's temporary gaol and provides an annual allowance to the Committees appointed to superintend the Houses of Correction in the Districts of Quebec, Montreal, and Trois-Rivières for the purposes described. By the 1817 Act committees are required to give an annual report of their expenses and processes by which the committees are to be appointed and proceed were also outlined. An Act to repeal and alter part of an Act, passed in the fifty-sixth year of His Majesty’s reign, entitled, “An Act for Founding, Establishing and Maintaining, an Academy at Pictou, in this Province.” 59 George III – Chapter 15 1819 This act repeals the second clause of an act first passed in 1816, which established the Pictou Academy and set out the manner in which its trustees are to operate as well as how they may be appointed. The second clause required trustees to declare their membership in the Church of England, or otherwise declare they professed the Presbyterian religion. The replacement clause requires trustees to proclaim themselves Christians "according to the Presbyterian principles and forms of the church of Scotland." Early Canadiana Online
An Act further to alter and extend the provisions of an Act, intituled “An Act to encourage the erection of a Passage Boat to be worked by steam, for facilitating the communication between the City of Saint John and Fredericton,” and to give further encouragement to the present Proprietors of the Steam Passage Boat erected in pursuance of the same Act. An Act in addition to, and amendment of, an Act, passed in the thirty-third year of His Majesty’s Reign, entitled, “An Act to enable the Inhabitants of the Town of Annapolis, and the Officers of His Majesty’s Garrison, stationed for the time being in the said Town of Annapolis, annually to nominate and appoint Supervisors to take charge of the Common appertaining to the said Town, and for other purposes therein mentioned.” 59 George III – Chapter 11 1819 This is an amendment to an act first passed in 1793, which makes provisions for the maintenance of common diked marshland outside of Annapolis. Under the original Act, any person found baking and selling bread without a license is subject to certain penalties.
