This act replaces the office of surveyor general with the commissioner of crown lands. The commissioner will undertake all the functions of the former surveyor general.
This is an amendment to an act first passed in 1844, which regulated the sale and granting of public lands which had priorly stood unused in the province.
This act places all properties heretofore been set aside for use for defence shall remain vested in the Principal Officers of the British government charged with defence.
