This Act authorizes Commissioners of Customs to constitute a Court of Record in certain "cases of forfeiture and penalties"; namely, in those cases involving sums of money less than forty pounds.
This Act defines in which district water bodies not fully enclosed within the borders of a particular township should be considered to be. The Act also makes provision for the trying of crimes committed on such water bodies.
This Act enumerates the duties to be charged on a number of items imported into the province, and states that this revenue be applied toward justice and governance. The Act makes brief reference to Lower Canada and its authority to appropriate such revenue raised by its government, for its own purposes.
