An act to raise funds for the construction or repair of several courthouses and gaols in Montreal, Bonaventure, and elsewhere through debentures and taxes.
This act removes an area from the Midland district and places it instead in the Bathurst district, as the population of the said area find it difficult to attend court proceedings in Midland.
This act allows the judge of the division number six courts in the district of Bathurst to fix the the times and places for holding said courts, so long as they are held a minimum of three times per year.

It defines what constitutes a township for the purposes of incorporation, the responsibilities of the municipal councils once they are established, matters which will be policed by the established village police force, and various other matters.
This act allows for the Deputy-Clerk of the Crown for each district of Upper-Canada to write testatum writs of capias ad respondendum, which are writs calling for a defendant who has failed to appear in court to answer to a civil suit against them.

This act abolishes the imprisonment of debtors, as it does not actually contribute to the reimbursement of creditors. It also enacts various other new measures which inform how creditors can pursue their debtors.
This act amends various laws relating to the administration of the courts of Gaspé, including the jurisdiction of its superior court, the time at which certain courts will be seated, and other measures.
