An Act for the appointment of Commissioners of Sewers, prescribing their power and authority, and for repealing the Acts now in force relating to that Office. 4 George IV – Chapter 13 1823 This act allows for the appointment of commissioners to assure the maintenance and care of diked marshlands (former Acadian aboiteaux), and specifies provisions for cases where a part of a dike or marshland requiring maintenance is located on private property. An Act to prevent the Cutting or Breaking down the Bank of any River, Seabank, or Dykes. 6 George III – Chapter 1 (Session 2) 1766 This Act makes the destruction of dykes resulting in lands being overflowed or damaged a felony.
