DescriptionThis Act outlines the processes by which sums, not exceeding four hundred pounds, can be borrowed to make up the sums required to build highways, bridges, and roads (including a road built between Truro and Halifax) not covered by the duties imposed by the 1768 Act, “An Act for suppressing unlicensed houses, and granting to his Majesty a duty on persons hereafter to be licensed.” Acts relating to duties on licensed houses are to remain in force until the end of 1780.
