As previous legislation was not clear on the power of the city of Saint John to repair and build streets and bridges within the city, this act clarifys what its power and responsibilities therein are.
This act replaces previous militia legislation, and creates a new system governing militia regulation, command, mustering, and training, and for imposing penalties for violating any of the aforesaid.
