An Act to alter the method of performing statute duty on the Highways and Roads within this Province. 39 George III Chapter 3 1799 This act repeals an earlier piece of legislation that required every householder in a parish or township to give twelve days to maintenance of highways and roads, and instead puts in place a graduated system whereby days required are determined by property holdings. An Act to amend part of an act passed in the thirty-fourth year of the reign of his Majesty, entitled, “An Act to establish a Superior Court of Civil and Criminal Jurisdiction, and to regulate the Court of Appeals,” and also to amend and repeal part of an act passed in the thirty seventh year of the reign of his Majesty, entitled, “An Act for regulating the Practice of Court of King’s Bench,” and to make further provision respecting the same. 39 George III Chapter 2 1799 This act requires plaintiffs to issue an affidavit in order to arrest a defendant intending to leave the province.
