This act repeals an act first passed in 1835, which made provisions for fire safety in the town of Carbonear, and provided for the funding of these measures, and replaces the original clauses with new ones.
This is an amendment to an act first passed in 1859 which incorporated the General Water Company under the named individuals, and legislated the rules and regulations under which the company is to operate.
This Act authorizes the investigation in the case of suspicious fires, including calling on witnesses and informants, as well as the penalties for refusing to answer or giving false testimony.
