This Act amends the 1829 Act “An Act for the encouragement of Elementary Education,” so that Rectors, Curates, and Ministers may serve as Trustees as defined in the former Act, despite not being freeholders. Several sums are to be distributed, under this Act, to defray expenses related to education, such as for the support of schools and printing books. Provisions are made to train person to qualify to open a school for deaf-mute persons in the province. |
